Jill-
All the interviews I read about really said a lot about the people's lives and what they were like. They could barely support their families. They couldn't even buy the things they really needed for an average day because it was probably too much money. They didn't have that kind of money. Their lives were really hard back then and I couldn't imagine living like that. I feel bad that they had to work so hard for such little money and that they could barely make a living. The interview that Matt read was about Jacob Stein. He is a theist. He is Polish, a male, and he is 58 years old. The interview is taking place in New York. It is taking place on December 27, 1938.The interviewer is B hathaway. The person that Brian is interviewing is Jesse Owens. He was an African American Olympic winner who had started out like most other people. He had started through his school and grew a bond with his coach. He would do more than run, but actually think about what's more important in life. He would win in Germany and become the fourth American to win 3 medals. He would become one of the most successful African Americans of the time period. Mr. Garavelli was a man in his fifties. He was a stone cutter. life was hard because many stone cutters died from silica. He did not make much money and he said that silica cannot get to him, because in his end of the shed, there is not much dust at the end of his shed. Mr. Garavelli also thinks he is smart because he is o ne of the few people who do not have silica.Anna Novak is married with two children. She has two boys, one age 10 and one age 13.
